1. Do not go to Caesar Rodney Dining Hall at 6:00 PM…ever. You always go at either 5:00 or 7:00; I’m not kidding. It is a mad house in there if you do not go at the correct time, and the lines will be so long that you resort to Lucky Charms.

2. Bring a fracket, but never bring your favorite sweatshirt as that fracket. In my experience, there is a 54% return rate for that sweatshirt. If you have no more left other than your favorite, and it happens to be 28 degrees out, you have to brave the cold.

3. El Diablo after a Saturday dage is a must. Not Chipotle, El Diablo. It is the most satisfying food that you could put in your mouth after a full 5+ hours on Choate (street where most dages occur). If you also do not get chips and guac, bye

4. Bring more socks than you think you will need, maybe like 50 pairs, seriously. My friends down the hall claimed that there was a tiny man living in their closet, eating their socks, and then it started happening to me. It was tragic.

5. If you are in your room and an RA knocks, hide everything. Even if you are just eating a sandwich, hide it. Some RA’s are ruthless and will try to get you in trouble for everything you do. Not all RA’s are like that, but some (mine).

6. Going along with No. 5, empty your trash often. Your RA most likely has X-ray vision and catch you for having that empty at the bottom of your trash can that isn’t even yours and write you up for it. (not like I would know that or anything). Also empty is because eventually you will have your trash getting so bad that it started extending onto your floor and into the rest of the room.

7. Whatever you do, try not to have a class in Willard Hall. It is so far you literally need to leave a half hour before class starts just to get a decent seat…it’s awful.

8. Bring lots of drinks and food for your dorm, especially water bottles. My roommate and I probably went through one case of water a week, and the hike from the pod to your dorm with a heavy case of water is terrible. Also bring snacks. I went to the pod at 12 a.m at least twice a week because I was out of food, so BRING LOTS!

9. Always check your Caesar Rodney Dining Hall chicken before you eat it. Sometimes it’s the best thing you will ever eat, and sometimes it looks like a freshly slaughtered chicken that they just put on your plate.

10. Do not wear your favorite shoes out to a party that you know is going to be in a basement. There is such a thing classed “frat party slush” which is a mixture of mud, beer, and other gross things that congregate on the ground. Your shoes WILL get ruined and you will be sad. (This is a real live picture of me with frat slush on my shoes).

11. There is no reason why you should not be daging (day raging) on a Saturday afternoon…absolutely none. I have skipped a few dages in my day, and I instantly regret it the minute my friends come back and talk about how fun it is. They are much better than night parties so I would advise you to go hard during the day and sleep all night.

12. Your first year of college goes by so fast so make the most of it. Go out, meet new people, stay up late, study hard, and most of all have the time of your life.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
