It's that time of year again! Summer is coming to an end, back-to-school shopping commercials begin to invade your TV time and your sleeping schedule continues to take a turn for the worst. It's August, which means school starts in less than two weeks.

Yet, for every other upcoming college freshman like me, the "back to school" feels are so much different than the past 12 years of our lives. We're no longer going back to the same school with the same people from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day. The day has come that we are officially college students, which results in all kinds of emotions.

Here are 12 feelings you get knowing that college starts in less than two weeks:

1. When leaving the nest is no longer hypothetical and has become very, very real.

2. Realizing that no retweet or fav about leaving for college could portray your excitement any better than this:

3. Even though your countdown has finally hit t-minus two weeks until Move-In Day, you're not nearly as prepared as you probably should be.

4. While you may have a couple weeks left until you're officially off to college, all of your friends start to slowly depart and you eventually feel like the Lone Ranger.

5. Every time you pass your dog or cat around the house, you feel like you have to cherish every moment because you're the one who foolishly volunteered as tribute to leave the crib.

6. You start to create a Plan A, B and C about ways you could sneak your dog into the dorms because there's no way in hell you're leaving them behind.

7. You mentally prepare your "new image" you plan on portraying in college.

8. When the feels start to really hit you, but they hit your parents even harder.

9. Becoming extremely stressed out every time you pass the pile of everything you plan to bring.

10. Coming to terms with the fact that you, like everyone else, will proudly hold the title of "Poor College Student."

11. When you begin to feel that sense of power because you're about to become independent.

12. When #Adulting soon becomes concerning because, wait, how do I use fabric softener and what happens if I wash my jeans with my white tees?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
