Packing for school is rough: thoughts of "do I have everything I need" cloud your mind as you load your car up to go. Not to mention it's a real pain to gather all of your belongings. Everyone only talks about how tedious packing is. How about unpacking. Unpacking might be the worst thing about college, right after pulling all nighters and the one hundred thousand dollars of debt, of course. After a long semester, all you desire to do is lounge on your couch and watch copious amounts of reality TV. The last thing on your mind is unpacking. You low-key hope no one makes plans with you (only because that would involve you putting on a real outfit and you'd have to crack open your luggage for that). If you're unpacking, here are some thoughts you may be having:
1. Will my mother ever stop complaining about me “turning her house into an episode of 'Hoarding: Buried Alive.'”
2. There’s no way all of this was in my dorm. It couldn’t have all fit in that tiny room.
3. Is this mine? I don’t recognize this? (Whatever “it” is, it’s definitely your roommate’s).
4. You mean to tell me this all came from my closet? I can’t fit all this stuff back in there.
5. I really regret not doing any laundry for the last month of school.
6. I didn’t wear this all semester. Why did I even bring it?
7. So. Much. Stuff.
8. Where in the world is my *insert item of importance here.*
9. Maybe if I’m really nice to my mom, she’ll assist me.
10. I have way too much stuff more than the average human. No doubt.
11. This is going to take me forever to do. I don't really have to do this all now, right?
12. By the time I’m done, it’ll be time to pack it all back up.
Good luck, all you fellow college students that are home for the summer. It's going to take a while, but the unpacking will be worth it. Keep on keepin' on.
