Everyone has those days where all they want to do is escape, but have you every really thought about where you'd escape to? Pretend for a moment that there are no language barriers or financial obligations -- where would you go? Here's a list of beautiful places to visit to help get those daydreams going.
1. Ireland
Belfast, Ireland is the capital of Northern Ireland and the name itself means "mouth of the sandbanks." Seeing that Ireland is an island, the description speaks for itself. There are plenty of beaches to visit with beautiful scenic views. Just be sure not to go into the water when it's cold.
2. Austria

You may know Austria as the setting for "The Sound of Music." It has beautiful mountains covered in trees and plenty of charming buildings to visit. The water is beautiful and blue, perfect for a romantic boat ride!
3. Scotland

Scotland is breath-taking. Green and lush with vast hills and varied terrain, it's a hiker's playground! Just look at that view! There's not a single dull sight as far as the eye can see. Every place you turn to makes for a perfect photo-op. Get artistic with yourself and forget about using a filter. Mother Nature's got it all set up for you.
4. New Zealand
New Zealand is absolutely amazing. The island has wonderful snow-capped mountains and grassy green hills. It's covered with lakes and rivers too! And let's not forget the big tourist attraction they got when they filmed the "Lord of The Rings" trilogy. Just take a look at the Peter Jackson films for a fantastical tour.
5. Australia
Australia is a large island with all kinds of terrain for any bold adventurer to explore. I'm telling you, it has everything. Australia has deserts, forests, mountains, beaches and open plains. There are all kinds of fascinating creatures out and about in the wild. If you're nervous about meeting with them one-on-one, try going to the Australia Zoo.
6. Arizona
Arizona is best known for its grand tourist attraction, The Grand Canyon, and for good reason! Some naysayers might scoff at the idea. "It's just a big empty space in the ground, made of some rock. What's so great about it?" If you have to ask, you've obviously never been awed by the power and majesty of something so enormous.
7. Colorado

Colorado has its best description in its name: color. Bob Ross himself could never paint a finer picture. Colorado has splashes of color all over its beautiful mountains. The landscape seemed to be painted in the light of rainbows. It's like a place you dream of -- a vivid dream come true.
8. California
California, here I come! California's geography is known for three things: mountains, deserts, and beaches! The beaches are full of character and great places to collect sea glass and pretty shells. California is the best place to go to ski (other than Colorado, of course) and the desert makes for a pretty sunset viewing.
9. New York
Nature is naturally beautiful, but a Manhattan skyline is majestic in its own right. Go to the rooftop of any building and look out as far as the eye can see. Maybe take a stroll through Central Park in the winter or fall. Just imagine what the world below looks like from the Statue of Liberty.
10. Washington
Washington has some excellent wilderness to hike through such as Mount Rainier National Park, but let's not go back to nature just yet. Seattle has great city views up high. You can even see the mountains from the Seattle Tower!
11. Virginia
I love Virginia in the fall when everything is painted gold and red. The state has numerous old country roads, perfect for a charming drive on a peaceful afternoon. When the sun hits those trees just right, everything feels prefect and new.
12. Montana
Forget about Hannah, what Montana ought to be known best for is its beautiful mountains. Wildflowers grow abundant on this green landscape. It looks like one of the default desktop pictures you get on your computer. I just want to lay in the fields and watch the clouds rolling on overhead.
Hopefully, one of these places can help make your daydreams more vivid. If I could, I'd love to visit each and every one of these places. Maybe someday I will!
