Peace Project

Ever have those days where you feel like the world is against you? Maybe it's a fight with a friend that's getting to you, or your family isn't getting along the best. Or maybe it's that F on a test that you spent weeks studying for.

Whatever it is, we all have those days where we need to sit back and realize how much we have to be thankful for.

Here's 12 blessings I always realize when I'm feeling like the world has it out for me:

1.) Opportunity to do as you please

In some countries or families, how you live is all based on your circumstances. To be able to live life how you want is something to be thankful for in itself.

2.) Having a roof over your head + food to eat

This may seem simple, but the world bank estimates there's 1.29 billion people in poverty. Don't take it for granted.

3.) Good Health

The amount of people out there fighting to survive is infinite, take a second to realize how blessed you are to be healthy and functioning.

4.) Time

Regardless of your age, we all still have time left on Earth to spend -- realize some of your best memories haven't even happened yet.

5.) The ability to laugh

Laughing in the presence of people you genuinely enjoy being around lifts up anyones day, even if it's a quick moment.

6.) Beauty of nature

How wonderful the Earth looks in certain areas is often overlooked, going on a quick walk with beautiful weather can change your mood 180.

7.) Music and Art

Appreciate what other people have created since it impacts your life directly every time you whip out headphones or see photographs.

8.) Love

"Alright, how cliche". Yes, I completely agree with you. However, that warm feeling with other people you care about is irreplaceable and one of the most priceless feelings when experienced.

9.) Being able to call or text any person whenever you want

Communication with people used to be 80x more difficult than it is now, it keeps us in close contact with one another when distance separates us.

10.) Your family

Regardless of the situation of any family, there's unconditional love there. Appreciate them, you're lucky to be alive at the same time.

11.) Friends that turned into family

Just because you aren't related by blood doesn't mean your friends aren't some of the most supportive people that're close to you.

12.) Those times that you know you'll look back on when you're older

We've all had days or nights that we look back on on bad days. Appreciating moments that stick out in your life can drastically change your mindset to be a more grateful one.

The list could go on, but these things stuck out to me as things we can all appreciate a little bit more. Even when nothing seems to be going your way, take a second and realize how blessed you genuinely are.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
