College is hard work. There are days when I wake up at the crack of dawn and don't go to bed until early the next morning. I seem to be always working and studying. I have all the time and freedom in the world, but I often find myself wishing for more hours in the day. Every class requires tons of reading, homework, and studying, and when taking four or five classes, it can become very overwhelming. I become burned out and feel like I am just going through the motions every week, trying to make it to Friday. When I get to this point, I have to constantly remind myself who I am working for, in order to push through. Everything I do, including resting, I do for the Lord, so I must do it with all my heart. Here are some verses for when you are worn and your work feels useless and never ending.

For when you are tired...

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls" Matthew 11:28-29

Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him.” Psalm 62:1

The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.Exodus 33:14

For when you are anxious everything you have to do...

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans Proverbs 16:3

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." -- Matthew 6:34

In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps. Proverbs 16:9

For when you feel your work is pointless...

"So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." 1 Corinthians 10:31

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters." Colossians 3:23

"Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might, for in the realm of the dead, where you are going, there is neither working nor planning nor knowledge nor wisdom." Ecclesiastes 9:10

For when you have lost hope...

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." Galatians 6:9

"All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty." Proverbs 14:23

"Knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ." Colossians 3:24

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
