1. Seeing your dog

Walking through the door and seeing a big ball of fur charging at you never gets old. Nevermind the fact that you get to see that tail wagging non-stop and receive the best wet kisses ever.

2. Oh, and then there’s your family, too

You love them. You may think they're down your throat when you get home, but in reality, they just missed you terribly and want to be caught up on your life away from home.

3. Your friends have a mini-reunion

Even though you have talked every day since the last time you saw each other, you still have a lot to catch up on.

4. The food

It's not from the dining hall. Enough said.

5. Your bed

No further explanation should be needed.

6. A single room

As much as I love my roommate, I will admit it's nice to be able to make as much noise as I want in the morning and turn on all of the lights. You know, maybe I should blame you for the fact that I look like a hot mess every day due since I have to get ready in the dark.

7. A break from constantly being with friends

I love being around the people that I love, but sometimes you just need to step back and take a break for yourself.

8. A private bathroom

No shoes in the shower! Who knew heaven really was on earth?

9. Your favorite hometown restaurant

It's your favorite meal (sorry mom). They know just how you like it.

10. Visiting your job

As much as you may have complained about going to work, you know you miss it. You miss the environment, the family you have created there, and, more importantly, the paycheck. Hey, I'm just being honest. I'm a broke college kid now.

11. A break from school

You get a break from sitting through classes every day, but don't forget about all the homework you probably took home to drown in.

12. Home is home

As much as you may love being away, doing whatever you want to do without the supervision of your parents, in the end home will always be the place you go back to.
