1, 2, 3) Mehdi Rajabian, Hossein Rajabian, Yousef Emodi are music distributors for BargMusic, one of Iran’s leading sources of underground music. They have been imprisoned since June 4. They have also had to pay a fine of two billion rials ( roughly $66,650 USD each).

In February 2015, Khademi wore a metal suit that “accentuated her breasts and buttox.” This project was intended to highlight street harassment in Afghanistan. Soon after she stepped outside, several men harassed her, and some even stoned her. Khademi received death threats after this project, and was forced to leave her home. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

6) Ashraf Fayadh is a Palestinian poet imprisoned in Saudi Arabia since 2014. His crime was distributing a book of his poems. The Saudi government claims that these poems promoted Atheism.
7, 8, 9, 10, 11) Ezz al-Din Khaled, Mohamed Adel, Mohamed Gabr, Mohamed Yehia are members of Egyptian youtube channel Street Children. Street Children is a satire channel. Khaled was arrested in May, and the other members were arrested in June after making videos that mocked President Sisi.

12) Paradise Sorouriis said to be Afghanastan’s first female rapper. Her lyrics have discussed violence against women. In 2013, hardline Islamists threatened Sabouri to stop her work.
