The end of the year is here, which means it is time for New Year's Eve plans to go into full effect! But being a minor still (ugh), finding fun plans for New Year's Eve can be tough sometimes. So here are some fun ideas for New Year's Eve that you and your underage friends can do while ringing in the new year!

1. Go out to dinner.

Even though most bars will be closed to minors, most restaurants won't be. And along with that, a lot of restaurants will probably be open late to allow people to watch the ball drop in New York. So grab a group of friends, make a reservation at your favorite restaurant, get dressed up, and go out for a fun night on the town!

2. Go to an underage bar/club.

I know in my town, we have a lot of places that are 18+ (yay!!). For example, there is a line dancing bar in my town that allows people over 18 and they are going to be having a HUGE New Year's event that all of my friends and I want to go to. Do some research on the bars in your town and see if any place will actually allow in people under 21. Chances are, one or two will!

3. Go to the movies.

Need something to pass the hours until the ball drop? Grab some friends and head to the movies! It always helps pass the time and will give you a chance to see something new in theaters with you friends.

4. Invite some friends over for a night in.

Sometimes it is nice to just be at home with friends and family. Invite some friends over, put on a movie, play some boardgames, and eat home cooked food as you wait for a ball drop. A very relaxing way to spend New Year's with friends or family.

5. Have a spa night at home.

If you are a little more of an introvert and want to have a night to yourself, give yourself a little spa treatment! Take a bath, throw on a face mask, and paint your nails while you watch the ball drop. The perfect and relaxing way to spend New Year's Eve!

6. Have a party.

Hey, if you can't go out, invite some people in! New Year's Eve parties are always a blast, so have one yourself. Make it a potluck, make it a belated White Elephant gift party, whatever you are feeling!

Whatever you are planning to do, celebrate the New Year with friends, family, your cat, whatever you are feeling!

Happy New Year's!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
