Spring Break is meant to be a relaxation period; no work, no worries, no stress. If you're having trouble trying to de-stress your brain, here are some things you can do to get the most out of the break in Spring Break:
1. Relax outside.
If the weather is nice or you happen to live by a beach, sit outside and enjoy the fresh air.
2. Read a book.
Pick a book that you'll enjoy, NOT a school required book.
3. Catch up on sleep.
Sleep until 12. Sleep until 2. Take as many naps as you want. You deserve to sleep after the busy weeks before.
4. Get together with friends.
Catch up, go out, and have fun. Distract yourself with good company.
5. Catch up on our favorite TV shows.
You've probably missed the last 3 episodes of The Walking Dead while studying for midterms. So do yourself a favor and get back into it.
6. Go for a hike, if weather permits.
Find a trail, take a friend (or your pet), and explore nature.
7. Exercise.
You probably lost time to exercise while studying for midterms, so feel good again by doing your workout of choice.
8. Meditate.
No, it's not just crossing your legs and saying "Hummm." Meditation helps your breathing, state of mind, and relaxation. Look up some tutorials if you're looking for the best way to de-stress.
9. Get artistic.
If you like to write, start a new project or finish an old piece. If you like to draw, get out your art supplies and just do it.
10. Eat home-cooked meals.
Have some real food in your system, rather than the cafeteria food you've had for the past 2 months.
11. DON'T pull out any homework.
Yes, I'm sure you have work that needs to be one. But this is your break. The work can wait; just enjoy the days and the free time before it gets busy again.
