11 Go-To Ways To Really Tick Off The List Maker

Shout out to all my readers who live to make lists. Whether it be a shopping list, a daily agenda, budget, or just a list of goals to achieve this next week/month/year you love making lists. You are not alone! If anyone knows how to really push our buttons it's us. Maybe you can relate to some of these triggers?

1. When someone says we need to be more spontaneous.

Yes, there are times when going on random adventures is good for the soul, but sometimes when there is too much spontaneity it gives us anxiety and we need to have some sort of plan. We also need some control over what will happen next. Even if it's just to plan out what gas stations to stop at on a road trip.

2. When someone doesn't stick to the schedule.

This is where we realize that at some level we are controlling, but our minds have planned out the day, week, and event down to the littlest detail. If someone is late it messes up all our brain's hard work and now we have to think even harder about what needs to change now to keep it moving.

3. When someone edits our list without permission.

One major rule when it comes to my lists: NO TOUCHY! Do not cross off anything, write in anything, or doodle over it all without a heads up first.

4. When you run out of space to add to your list.

BRING ON THE STICKY NOTES!

5. When you can't humanly finish everything on the list in one day without turning into the walking dead.

Repeat after me: sleep is good! It's hard to end the day with even one thing left on the list to do...

6. When you tell us to take a break.

Do not fear, if we haven't eaten all day and you tell us to take a break to eat, we may lash out. It's because we are simply hungry and don't realize it. We will thank you in the end.

7. When you accidentally throw away your list.

Life gets crazy and sometimes things get mixed into last week's newspaper and then we spend an extra hour of our day searching for the list that has met a terrible fate.

8. But that just means making another list so that's a plus!

Yay more lists!!

9. When people call you uptight and no fun, when in reality you do have fun it's just planned out so we can fit in as much fun as possible!

Believe it or not, we are not against fun. *gasp!

10. We like our lists to look uniform...

Avoid using different colored pens. And it's a check or a dash or a line, not all three. Uniform.

11. When you realize that you actually had fun and it wasn't on the list.

Yes, this does happen every now and then, we promise! We are NOT stuffy or boring. Though most of the time we like to have the control, we do occasionally let our wild side out!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
