11 Ways Petite Girls Can Style Themselves To Look Taller

If you're a girl that's extremely petite, then you understand the struggle of trying to appear taller. Being short can make it hard to slim and it can make you look less graceful. The worst is when you see other women with long, slim figures appearing elegant in their clothes.

However, what many girls that struggle with being short don't realize is that there are techniques to use when styling yourself that will make you appear taller. And most of these tricks are very easy, small changes that can make a huge difference! Here are 11 that all petite girls need to try ASAP.

1. Avoid wide belts and clashing colors.

Wide belts can end up hiding your waist, making you appear shorter. They can also make your torso look wider. Avoid clashing colors since it can make your legs appear shorter.

2. Wear pants that fall on the waistline.

Wearing pants that come to your waistline can make your legs look longer, so opt for high-waisted jeans. Just make sure to find high-waisted jeans that are the right size, since they can look funny if you don't find a size that fits.

3. Wear cardigans that aren't bulky.

Just like with any outfit, if you wear cardigans that are bulky they will hide your figure and make you appear shorter. Slim-fitting cardigans, on the other hand, will make you appear taller! Cardigans are a great wardrobe choice, since they can go with any outfit!

4. Try dresses that are fitted.

You will want to avoid wearing dresses that cover you completely or appear baggy because they'll hide your figure. Try opting for dresses that show off your waist and curves. Showing off your figure will make you appear taller.

5. Wear crop tops.

Wearing any type of crop top will help you look taller because it'll show off your waistline! They can also make your legs look longer if you pair them with high-waisted jeans. You can also wear cropped tops for any type of weather since they come in short as well as long sleeves.

6. Avoid knee-high boots.

The one thing that's in style for boots right now is knee-high boots or thigh boots. However, if you're petite then wearing knee-high boots can make your legs look shorter. So, as much as you may want to, avoid wearing knee-high boots and opt for ankle boots instead.

7. Tuck in your top.

If you don't want to wear a crop top, try tucking in your top, especially if you're wearing long pants. Tucking in your top can keep your outfit from looking baggy and hiding your figure. It can also make your legs appear longer.

8. Wear heels.

This one is a no-brainer. Wearing heels can make you appear taller to the point where no one can tell that you're short. However, if you struggle with wearing heels, try picking ones with a strap attached to the ankle. This will hold in your foot and prevent you from tripping. Or try wearing heels with a wedge rather than stilettos.

9. Avoid wearing bulky jackets.

Wearing bulky jackets can end up making your legs look shorter and can hide your figure. Instead, opt for wearing a jacket that won't hide the shape of your body. It's even better if you pick a jacket that falls either on or above your waist.

10. Wear one-piece outfits like jumpsuits.

Just because you may be petite does not mean that you can't wear jumpsuits or one-piece outfits! Wearing a one-piece outfit can actually make you appear taller! You can even try wearing a maxi dress! Just make sure to get it tailored so that it fits comfortably and will prevent your outfit from looking baggy.

11. Use a small purse.

Finally, if you want to make yourself look taller, try carrying a small purse. Big purses can cover you up and make you appear shorter. Plus carrying a small purse is easier and more convenient.

If you're looking to make yourself seem taller, try following any one of these tips! Being small and petite can be a challenge, especially when looking for the right clothing. However, if you follow any one of these tips, you'll be able to enjoy showing off your figure rather than constantly wishing that you were taller!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
