Every friend group classifies different members as specific roles. While these roles can vary, one role that is necessary for a friend
group's survival is the mom of the group. The mom of the group tends to have certain personality traits that make her able to take care of many girls in all states of mental and physical condition at all times. 

Here are some tell tale signs of how to know if you are the mom of your group:    

1) You carry an emergency kit in your car (and yes this is different from a basic first aid kit but contains items such as aspirin, nail clippers, makeup and tampons). 

2) You remind your friends to not procrastinate on their homework.   

3) When your friends go out and you decide to stay in on the couch, you remind them of the importance to not drink and drive, to not talk to strangers, and to not mix dark and light alcohol. 

4) Shopping at stores such as J. Crew and Ann Taylor Loft excites you. 

5) When any of your friends need to go meet the parents for their new boy they come to you for advice on what to wear and what to talk about. 

6) You are the only one of your friends who knows how to fully do laundry, cook meals more complicated then grilled chicken and pasta, and how to deep clean the entire house. 

7) You know exactly what kind of medicine everyone needs for every symptom. 

8) Bringing snacks to the movie theater in your massive Mary Poppins purse is everyone's favorite part of the movie. 

9) When it is hot outside you make sure everyone is drinking enough water. 

10) When you do decide to go out with your friends, you follow them around keeping tabs on the all the things they won’t remember the next day and making sure they won’t do anything they’ll regret. 

11) You coupon clip like no other. 

If you are the mom of the friend group it may seem that all of your hard work goes unappreciated, but without you who knows if your friends would still be here. You cannot help but want to take care of everyone and be the cheerleader, study partner and doctor for everyone. Make sure to take care of yourself as well and if you aren’t the mom make sure to tell her how much you love her for everything she does. Lastly, remember mother knows best.
