Personally, I seem to find each of these people every single time I visit the library. One can try their hardest to avoid doing so, but let’s be real: it is inevitable. Here are the eleven types of people we all find at a university library:
1. The Newbie
We have all been new to the college library environment at one point of our lives. If you were like me, you probably felt lost in this quiet environment and had no idea about what to do once you sat down.
2. The Procrasinator
There is always that one person who is either on Netflix, YouTube, or social media, when we all know the school is at its second round of exams.
3. The Sleepyhead
Whether or not someone is taking a nap in between classes or sleeping after a long day of studying in the library, we can always find that one sleeper.
4. The Eater
This person thinks they are quiet in the silent zone, but in reality we hear every single bite taken from his snack.
5. The Socializer
Once this person walks through the door, he just so happens to run into everyone he knows, making lengthy and extremely loud conversations.
6. The Hoarder
I admit, I hoard four person tables all for myself because I need all the space I could get. What I could not understand is why someone who obviously does not need the power outlet is right next to it?
7. The Cougher/Sneezer/Sniffler
Yes, this is inevitable, but please take a cough drop and blow your nose for the good of everyone around you.
8. The DJ
To that one person who blasts music on his headphones, please stop. We can all hear the base drop from several feet away.
9. The Camper
This person is in a comfy outfit, likely sweatpants and a shirt, has several food wrappers around the table, and has stacks of notebooks and textbooks
10. The People Watcher
This is self-explanatory, but we tend to always find that one person who pays attention to the people walking back and forth more than the lecture playing on the laptop screen or the textbook we need to read.
11. The Studious One
We aspire to be this student: highly motivated, concentrated, and manages to leave the library considerably early.
