The 11 Types of Friends We All Have on Facebook

We all have them and know who they are. Calling out the various types of Facebook friends we have would be considered rude, so we tolerate them. The foodie, the lurker, the partier, the wino, and others. So, we sit in silence, holding our tongues and maybe even liking their posts out of courtesy. So take a little break from all that, and bask in the ingloriousness of the 11 types of friends we all have on Facebook.

1. The Debater

This person always has something to disagree with. They will rant on and on about issues, politics being their favorite, as if they are experts in the field and have all the right answers. These are the type of people who will constantly comment on statuses with an opposing view, starting a debate. There is no winning with Debaters, just learn to not encourage them, like a toddler.

2. The "Foodie"

This is your typical food lover. Every meal this person has made and/or consumed is captured in a picture and promptly posted to social media. They take great pride in all types of food, from chocolate covered strawberries to mac and cheese. You're either intrigued or repulsed by their meal choices. There is no in between.

3. Grandma

This is literally your grandmother. She pokes you and comments on your photos asking if you've installed Windows 10 yet. She may not completely understand how Facebook works, but she's trying, and we are all just grateful to still be in touch with her. She is the reason you post modestly. We love Grandma.

4. The Lurker

This person never seems to post anything. Their last update was from Spring of 2010. But, they're always there, scrolling. Lurking. Watching. Occasionally, they'll like one of your posts or comment on a photo, just to let you know they're still around before receding back into the shadows.

5. The Partier

This person will always post pictures and videos of their "crazy nights". It seems they are always out having a wild time with friends. The partier is the type of person you envy in your early twenties and then begin to feel sorry for into your thirties. Be wise, partiers. Facebook responsibly.

6. Debbie Downer

This person always posts vaguely sad statuses like "should have never trusted you", or "Nice to know how little I meant to you". There's no helping Debbie Downer, many have tried commenting and asking what is wrong, to which Debbie will reply about not wanting to talk about it. It gets to a point where you mindlessly like the status in hopes that will convey your sympathy well enough.

7. The Minion Lover

If you have ever seen these on your Newsfeed, or been tagged in them, you are probably friends with a Minion Lover. The best part about these quotes is that the minion image beside them usually has nothing to do with what they are about at all. They're just ridiculous.

8. The Happy Couple

These people are truly in love. They always have the cutest couple's photos and document each milestone in their relationship as if it is a major accomplishment that all must know. You want to be happy for them, but can't help it that you find them slightly annoying. Especially when you're single, scrolling through Facebook while eating a pizza alone in bed.

9. The Wine-O

This person, whether they're 40 or 24, loves wine and wants every Facebook friend to know it. They will usually post pictures of them holding a glass of wine or share funny photos joking about wine. Sometimes they'll post as if they're living at the height of luxury drinking Merlot in a bubble bath. Ironically, you're never jealous of them.

10. The comedian

This person is one whose statuses you always seem to enjoy. You always pause at their posts as you're scrolling through your feed because you know it will give you a lighthearted chuckle. Whether they write out a funny update or sharing funny pictures, they always have something humorous to say. Keep it up Comedians.

11. The Familiar Stranger

These are the people that you don't really know directly and aren't quite sure how you came to be friends. But, you never get around to unfriending them and end up liking each other's posts despite that fact. It's a weird relationship.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
