11 Times The Characters Of Parks And Recreation Understood My Life

Parks and Recreation is a show that has filled our lives with laughter, delight, and inspirational messages to "treat yo self" whenever possible. There have been many moments where these characters have connected to us in a spiritual way.

1. When your friend goes on a date with that Tinder guy she matched with yesterday

You never know how creepy he is, his bio did say "Netflix and chill." His intentions could be very insincere.

2. When is working out ever fun?

Even when I am running to class, I feel so out of shape. I feel like I just want one of those segway scooters to get to class.

3. When midterms/finals week approaches and some things just slip your mind.

Sometimes, during midterms/finals week, my priorities get caught up in school work and I can't be a superhuman and be "normal" while to stay up for a week straight.

4. Because sometimes "adulting" is too hard.

Being "Princess Rainbow Sparkle" instead of Andy Dwyer is so much better, way less responsibilities, and you don't have to worry about school.

5. When you are trying to fill in every extra word you can on essays.

Instead of just saying "Abe Lincoln was born in Kentucky", say, "Abraham Lincoln was born in Kentucky in a log cabin in 1809 to two loving parents". See, so many more words.

6. Why else would you go to places that only sell healthy food or why else go to the gym?

Going to the gym and seeing people actually "try" is just as amusing as going to see lions, tigers, and bears, oh my.

7. You have to keep your girl friends closer than those stupid boys.

Leslie Knope created one of the best holidays, and should be recognized on a calendar, Galentine's Day.

8. Why can't there be a Waffle House and an IHOP on every corner and eat there for every meal?

Leslie is right, why would anybody ever eat anything besides breakfast food? If JJ's diner was a real thing, you know I would be there everyday.

9. When you look at the decisions made in the pictures and Snapchats from the previous night.

Isn't it when we are young to make choices we will never remember but never regret?

10. When you have been up for hours studying for a test and you are unfortunate and have an 8 am, and don't want to talk to anyone.

I just want to have a giant sign around my neck saying "it's too early to talk to me, don't even try."

11. When crying is for the weak.

Andy, I too am allergic to jerks, they are like the human equivalent to pollen..

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
