It’s that wonderful time of year! Time for decorations, baking, family time, Santa, and gift giving! Can’t you just feel the love?

Well sometimes the Christmas spirit is just a bit too much and we all feel the way the Grinch did BEFORE his heart grew three sizes bigger. Here are 11 times we have all related to the Grinch:

1. When you’re just not in the Christmas mood

Christmas music has TAKEN OVER. Every radio station, restaurant, store, and mall are overplaying all the holiday classics. Sometimes it’s just way too much. I mean come on, we can’t expect to be joyful and peaceful and happy all the time...

2. When you’ve hibernated in your room almost all of break

I mean who can resist a warm bed and Netflix?

3. When you have too much free time now

It’s finally Christmas break! But now you have so much free you don’t know what to do with it. Also, if you’re coming home from college, you finally have access to real food. If anyone questions your food intake, just tell them you’re preparing for hibernation.

4. When it’s way too cold outside

If the weather is as cold as your heart, it's a day to stay in.

5. When you find the one you want to spend the holidays with

Right when you’ve prepared yourself for the reactions of when your family asks if you’re STILL single, you find someone you’d actually like to bring home. But what if it’s too late? What if he’s not interested? Does he even know your name? You never asked Santa for these feels so he should just give you the whole thing right? RIGHT?

6. When you struggle to pick out the perfect Christmas outfit

You slipped on your brand new outfit and you are going to SLEIGH that Christmas party you’ve had planned for weeks. Then you take one look in the mirror and all of a sudden its a "Ho Ho No..."

7. When the emotions of the year hit you all at the same time

We all have those times (especially during finals) when the crazy year and the madness ensues so instead of doing the things we’re supposed to (like studying for finals) we end up wondering how we ended up where we ended up, why we feel the way we feel, and eventually end up drowning in feels like the Grinch..

8. When your crush says all they want for Christmas is for their crush to like them

Santa, baby, we both know I'd be the best gift he could ever receive...

9. When you realize it’s a few days before Christmas and you haven’t bought any gifts

Time to face the crowded malls with all the other procrastinators or pray to God if you order on Amazon they actually come in on time….

10. When you finally start to get excited about Christmas

When all the stress has finally somewhat melted away and you realize Christmas is actually here! The excitement starts to settle in and you begin to focus on the joyful part of the holiday season.

11. When the Christmas Spirit finally hits

It’s finally Christmas! All the magic and happiness and joy comes alive and the spirit begins to take over! Whether it’s just a bit, or maybe your heart grew three sizes today, you can’t help but feel the love.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
