I may look like I know what I am doing when it comes to dressing and acting like a girl, but in reality I am completely clueless. Coming from someone who did not start wearing makeup until freshman year of college, I struggle with being a girl on the daily.
Here are 11 reasons why somedays, being a girl is the absolute worst.
1. I cannot paint my nails if my life depended on it.
No matter how hard I try, my hand shakes and I mess up the nail polish. When I try to fix it, I end up smearing the polish all over my fingers and effectively staining them red. Then, when I get the nail polish to look how I want it to, I chip it almost immediately.
2. I hate plucking my eyebrows.
I am the biggest baby when it comes to getting my eyebrows waxed or taking tweezers to them myself. The entire time I do them my eyes tear.
3. I cannot walk in high heels.
There are so many nights where I am going out and I have an outfit on that would look adorable in heels. Every time I think, "Maybe if I just walk slowly, I can pull these off." Nope. I fall, hard.
4. Bras are the most uncomfortable thing a human can put on their body.
Plus they are a pain in the ass to wash.
5. Bras are also ridiculously expensive.
Paying at least $50 for something so uncomfortable, and that one even sees, should be illegal.
6. "Cooking"
Girls are expected to cook, and the only cooking I do is in the microwave. If it doesn't come in a box or a can, I will pass.
7. If we do not put on makeup, we look "sick" or "tired"
Just because I do not have on thick eyeliner and my eyelashes are not extended five inches does not mean I have the flu.
8. If you are like me and your natural hair is frizzy and awkwardly wavy, then you have to straighten or curl it every day.
That adds like an extra ten minutes to your morning routine that you could have used to sleep.
9. I eat enough food to feed a small country when it is that time of the month.
Then I wonder why I feel like I am 500 pounds because I am bloated.
10. Buying jeans is an all day activity.
No store makes a pair of jeans that comfortably fits your butt, hips and thighs with also being the perfect length.
11. Pocketbooks are the worst creation in the world.
Girls pants pockets are not big enough to hold everything, so we are forced to settle for a giant black hole of a bag.
