11 Thoughts We All Had During Season 4 Of OITNB
Netflix

If you're a binge watcher like me, odds are you're already done with season 4 of Orange is the New Black. Let me just say... OMG. Season 4 was crazy! I'm sure many of your thoughts were the same as mine.

1. I should've rewatched the series.

Oh man. The season opens and you have NO idea what's going on, or who these new people from season 3 are. It has been almost a year, after all. You're probably wishing you had re-watched the season, or at least read a summary on where season 3 left off.

2. Where is Sophia?

I quickly realized Sophia was not really in the first few episodes, and had no idea where she was and why. After reading where season 3 left off, I realized what was going on.

3. Crazy Eyes.... I didn't see that coming.

In season 4, the backstory of Suzanne (Crazy Eyes) was revealed in more detail and we figure out what crime she committed. I always wondered why she was sent to prison and not a mental institution, and I sort of understand why, but at the same time, she didn't really understand what she did wrong.

4. Alex and Lolly and murder?

THEY KILLED HIM. I mean, he totally deserved it, but I didn't think Alex would have the guts to do it. (Clearly, the guilt was eating her alive) And the body? Holy crap. I'm also shocked at how long it took to find said body.

5. ALL THE BACKSTORIES

One of my favorite aspects of the show is the backstories of all of the prisoners. Season 4 did a fantastic job answering some more questions about our favorite characters. Poussey, Brooke, and Crazy Eyes, just to name a few.

6. I HATE Piscatella.

I thought I wouldn't hate anyone more than Pornstache. I was wrong. Piscatella is by far the worst.

7. Soso and Poussey are the best.

Whether it's Pousoso or something else, I can't help but ship these two. They are adorable.

8. What's up with that guard?

Humphrey, one of the new guards, is just plain creepy. He must have some weird fetish or be a masochist. Not only did he make Maritza choose between eating a live baby mouse or 10 dead flies while holding a gun to her head, he forced the inmates to physically fight, emotionally damaging Suzanne as well as causing some pretty severe injuries for Maureen. This guy comes in third for the worst, behind Piscatella and Pornstache.

9. Speaking of Poussey...

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT. Why did they kill her off? She was one of my personal favorites, and especially with her new relationship, her death made my heart ache. Even more reason to hate Piscatella.

10.The Season Finale....

Season 4 left us with a HUGE cliffhanger (which isn't a surprise...) that could go in so many different directions. It touched upon some very relevant social issues and left us all a little sadder than we wanted to be.

11. When is Season 5?

With the cliffhanger, we're all anxiously awaiting season 5. Season 5 most likely won't premiere until June 2017, given the pattern of the previous releases. It's just plain torture.

Of course, most of us are done with season 4 knowing we will have to wait nearly a whole year to find out what's going to happen next. Will I be binge watching the series again before then? Probably. OITNB has been very promising and I can't wait to see what happens in season 5!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
