11 Things You Inevitably Hear During Halloween Week

Halloween is quickly approaching, and this is the last chance (at least for us here in Michigan) where there is a guaranteed chance that there won't be snow on the ground. All the young college kids are getting their costumes ready for a weekend filled with spooky festivities. This holiday, like many, has become quite the cliche. These are a few cliche sayings you might hear this Halloween week.

1. "What Are You Wearing?" / "What's Your Costume?"

One of the most common sayings for any event, but for this event it means that they want to know what you'll dress up as. You'll get a variety of answers from different people because some people will go as one thing throughout the entire weekend, and some overachievers will have a different costume for each night they go out.

2. "I Have No Idea What To Wear."

There is always that person that comes to you the day of a Halloween party and complains that they don't have a costume. But not to fear, there are always quick and easy cliche Halloween ideas for every person!

3. Someone Will Make The Joke "I'm Here For The Boos."

One of the most common Halloween jokes that has recently arisen.

4. "OMG That Girl Is Wearing The Same Costume As Me."

This is usually followed by a bunch of gossip about why girl #1 hates this girl now.

5. "You Look Way Better In That Costume Anyways."

Usually a close friend, boyfriend or another person of significance to girl #1 following previous observation. Whether they mean it or not, this statement usually puts the girl who made the observation in a better mode and causes less drama.

6. "Can We Get A Picture" / " Let's Get A Picture."

Because what's Halloween without showing off your costume on every social media outlet there is?

7. "Where Are You Going Tonight?"

Because there are many different answers to this question: some will decide to stay in, some will go to the bar, some will go to actual Halloween events, and some will go to house parties.

8. "How Did You Think Of That Costume?"

Although most costume ideas come from Pinterest, there are some creative people out there who will go all out in their hopes for the best Halloween costume.

9. " OMG The Halloween Candy At the Grocery Store Is 75 Percent Off!"

Halloween isn't all about the costumes, it's about the outrageous amount of candy that is acceptable to eat this time of year. The day Halloween comes around, all the stores are trying to get rid of it so watch out for some crazy candy clearances.

10. "I'm So Ready For No-Shave November."

Now that Halloween is coming to an end the guys are now moving on to better things. With only a day left till the month of manliness, any guy who participates is most likely going to be announcing their participation to everyone they possibly can.

11. "Next Year For Halloween I'm..."

As if this Halloween wasn't great enough, the Halloween speculations for next year are already beginning. Some will already have their future costume in mind, some are planning to throw their own party, and some are planning elaborate vacations to big cities for their celebration.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
