Being separated from your roommates over a break can be hard. You can’t just walk upstairs when you’re bored because you have hours and miles separating you. Going from spending too much time together to spending no time with each other at all over the break seems to make the days drag on. So while you’re cuddled up back at home binge watching all eight seasons of Dexter on Netflix before being consumed with homework once again, here are some things we all miss about our roommates while we are away.
1. Maker of fun
Whenever you're bored, a trip to your roommates room somehow manages to change that. Whether you complain outright that you're bored as you fall dramatically onto their bed or subtly ask them what they're doing, roomies have a way of making life a little more fun.
2. Cookie enthusiast

3. Movie/TV Show watcher
Movie nights and lazy days are the perfect time to catch up on your fave television series with your roomie or movie on Netflix. (How to Get Away With Murder is our house favorite)
4. Coffee dates
They can take place in your kitchen or down the street at a coffee shop, but no matter what, coffee time with roommates is a necessity that you miss.
5. Dinner making
The meals might not be gourmet (try spaghetti or frozen fish), but they are your attempts at adulting.
6. Therapist
Roommates are also known as your personal therapist. They listen to you rant about your professors or that cute guy that you'll never talk to and give advice when needed.
7. Gossip central
You always have to stay in the know on the latest gossip and keep your roommates in the loop. You talk plenty about college, but they also know all about your hometown drama involving people they've never met before.
8. Workout buddy
Workout buddy or the one that forces you to hit the gym, roommates do it all. Finding motivation to go can be hard, so you have to keep each other accountable. (Mainly so you can eat all the cookies and cinnamon rolls that your heart desires)
9. Restaurant pal
Sometimes, more often than not, cooking is just too much and your roommates are the first to suggest going out to eat.
10. Homework sessions
Okay, so you probably don't miss the homework, but study sessions can be fun with your roommates. They seem to motivate you to get all the work you need done knocked out.
11. Motivational sentiments
"You eat that fifth slice of pizza!" "You add that boy on Facebook!" Roommates are like your own Shia LaBeouf's when it comes to encouragement. They always know the right thing to say and want the best for you. Their daily motivations keep you going.
And by the time break is over, you're more than ready to be reunited with your roommates!
