Another year has come and gone. And you’ve learned some pretty valuable things about yourself and life in general. College is the best time of your life because you grow so much each year. Sophomore year has taught me a lot, and I’m sure you’ve learned some things too. Here are some things you learn about sophomore year of college:
1. You can’t blame your mistakes on being a freshman anymore.
Being a college newbie is no longer a viable excuse.
2. Your freshman year best friends will not necessarily be your lifelong friends.
Sometimes you find better people along the way.
3. Sometimes staying in is way better than going out.
A movie and a friend sound a lot cheaper than alcohol and a cover charge.
4. You don’t fear your RA anymore.
Odds are that they’re probably your friends.
5. You don’t find random parties that fun anymore.
It’s not fun to be in a room with 100 people you don’t know.
6. Your grades become your #1 priority.
You now understand just how much damage a bad semester can do to your GPA.
7. Going to school events is cool now.
It’s better than having nothing to do.
8. You’ll go to just about anything for a free T-shirt.
There’s nothing better than free stuff.
9. The thought of graduation terrifies you.
It’s only two years away and now you understand just how fast two years pass.
10. Internships are a necessity now.
You can no longer push it off until next year…you actually have to start getting your life together now.
11. You look forward to breaks and summer.
After another long year, you are so ready for a couple of months off.
