In the midst of a long, cold, snowy winter that just keeps dragging on and on, it may seem like spring will never come. But come it does. On the first warm weekend of the semester, students on college campuses across the northeast revel in the nice weather. We spend our days outside, reminding the people who drive by, used to the emptiness of winter, that there are actually students who attend school here. The first weekend of spring is the best, but there are a few things we all do that we might not be proud to admit.
1. Wear a heavy coat to your first class, then spend the rest of the day towing it around in your back pack.

2. Skip class, work or another commitment to hang out with your friends on the quad.

3. Make an obnoxious amount of noise about being outside.

4. Take an obnoxious amount of Snapchat selfies of you and your friends in your sunglasses.
Because everyone always looks their cutest in sunglasses.
5. Open your window.
Being able to leave your window open during the day is one of the most refreshing parts of spring... possibly because its the first opportunity you've had all semester to air out your dorm room. Hey, at least you don't have to live with that soggy winter boot and left-over Chinese take-out stench anymore.
6. Walk across campus to check your mail... for the first time in two months.
Hey, it's not your fault that your school decided to put the student mailboxes in the one building you can't get to using the tunnels. What did they expect you to do, walk outside? In the snow?
7. Put on shorts and a tank top.
Sixty-seven degrees isn't exactly the right temperature for baring most of your skin. But then again, after a frigid northeastern winter, what's one more day of pretending not to be cold for the sake of looking cute?
8. Forget that it still gets cold when the sun goes down...
And forget to bring a jacket when you leave for the evening. You were fine when you went out, but now that it's time to go home you're really wishing for that extra layer.
9. Laugh at your friend who decides to use the tunnels...
Then proceed to use the tunnels yourself the very next morning to get to breakfast, because you didn't feel like changing out of your pajamas.
10. Forget the sun is a thing.
To celebrate the warm weather, you spend the entire day outside, only to realize you got a sunburn when you finally go inside.
11. Put all your homework off until Sunday evening so you can spend as much time outside as possible.
But hey, you were going to do that anyway, right?
Happy spring!
