Summer is a wonderful time where you are free to do whatever you want, whenever you want. This of course is assuming you aren't taking summer classes or have a full time job but somehow have an overflowing wallet with cash.
If you're like me and you aren't made on money, here is a list of a few fun and cheap things that could save you from boredom.
Number 1: Going to the pool.
It doesn't get more summery than this. If it's nice and sunny outside, grab some water (or other fun beverages) and go hang next to the pool for an hour or like four.
Number 2: Have a Netflix day.
You could argue that this also gets boring, but you could also argue it was easier watching all 12 episodes of that show was better done in one day than over the course of 12 weeks.
Number 3: Go to the movies.
This one can require a little bit of money but be smart about it. Hide your candy in your purse so you don't have to buy it there. Also, most movie theaters offer discounts to students! Ask at the ticket booth and take your campus ID just in case to save a few bucks!
Number 4: Actually make food.
It's so easy to just drive through Taco Bell or McDoanlds to grab lunch but why not actually making yourself some food? Odds are it will probably be healthier and overall cheaper.
Number 5: Clean.
In no way does this sound fun, but it will give you something to do. If you're already a pretty clean person, go harder with it by pulling out the couches or giving your refrigerator a good wipe down.
Number 6: Work out.
While this one can be hard to convince yourself to do already, at least you actually have the time now!
Number 7: If you have one, hang out with your dog!
Sitting on the couch with your dog does count as hanging out with them, but consider doing something they'd enjoy even more? Like taking them for a walk or run.
Number 8: Have a potluck house party with friends.
House parties can be pricey, that's why you make this one potluck-- meaning everyone brings something to the party for everyone. Have your guest bring the chips, dips, and drinks, and you can turn on the tunes.
Number 9: Get creative.
If you tell me you don't like coloring still, I have to believe you're lying. It's not something you grow out of.
Number 10: Read a book.
If you're anything like me, you have at least 5 books sitting on your desk that you bought and have yet to read. Pick one up and start!
Number 11: Go on a trip.
You can make it a weekend trip, or even just a day. Get some friends and go somewhere you've never been. Could be costly but the memories will be worth it.
Keep enjoying your summer!
