If you have ever gotten bored out of your mind on a rainy day, this list is most definitely for you. It rained here in southern Indiana almost every day last week, and the storms caused major damage. While waiting to start my second job, I have been sitting at home, with the rain really putting a damper on my plans. The pouring rain made it difficult to do the things I like to do, like walking, and for doing the things that need to get done, like walking my Shih Tzu. I was bored out of my mind and decided to create this list for the people who cannot sit still for very long or need a few ideas about what they can do.
If you're alone...
1. Crack open a book.

I read four books this week. Four. That's one for every day that it rained, and it was invigorating. I got to read up on my favorite tales and my favorite drama books, and I realized just how much I've missed reading. I devoured book after book, and got to do my favorite rainy day activity—travel the world. If you won't take my advice, you can always take Dr. Seuss's: "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go."
2. Netflix yourself.

There's so much to watch on Netflix that there cannot ever really be "nothing to watch." It makes it easy, too, because you just curl up in your bed or on the couch and bask in your list of shows or your favorite movie. If you can't figure out what to watch, there are quizzes you can take, charts on the Internet or you can even make a Facebook status and ask your friends. Got someone important in your life? Make a list of their favorite movies, and study up; going the extra mile is a great way to show you care.
3. Take a nap.

Sometimes it is really difficult to get out of bed on rainy days. It's dark, you're tired and the sound of the rain is so peaceful that you never want to move again. So keep yourself cocooned in your blankets and cuddle into your pillows. That's your plan for the day. Stay comfy and nothing else.
4. Play some video games.
Maybe today just happens to be the day that you pull out some old games and start playing again. Whether you're rediscovering Mario, Minecraft, Crash Bandicoot or Spyro, make sure that you have some fun with it. Create a new world, rescue a princess and fly around because you can; you have nothing but time while waiting for the rain to stop.5. Do a closet purge.

There is so much stuff that you can find when you clean your closet. You probably have quite a bit of stuff in your closet, and if you go through it, you will likely find old clothes, stuff that doesn't fit and even stuff you never intend to wear again. There are probably shoes you can't wear comfortably, stuff that needs repairs that you'll likely never make and a lot of stuff that you haven't worn in years. Toss it. Find a couple boxes to divide your items into those you want to donate, trash, give away, sell and keep. Take on your closet first, and try on the clothes you intend to keep; if they don't fit, get rid of them. This may inspire you to clean the rest of your house and your room.6. Fall in love with music again.

If you're with friends...
7. Break out the board games.

There's nothing quite like the viciousness behind a game of Uno, or the four-hour wait to finish a game of Monopoly. You can learn so much about a person by the way they play a board game, so put down your phone and pick up your deck of seven or pick the little silver doggy, and play to your heart's content.
8. Play in the rain.

Seriously, do a rain dance, tackle each other into some puddles, walk through water barefoot—have fun! Actually get outside into the rain and run around. Get your hair wet, let your makeup run down your face and let all your worries wash away with the rain.
9. Have a dance party.

Whether you do your craziest moves or try out the Carlton, there is no end to the amount of fun you can have. Teach some to tango, to twerk, whatever—just do it together. You can laugh and have a great time or battle it out! So come on, show us your moves!
10. Put on a play.
With your friends or family in tow, there's no limit to the amount of comedy (or misguided humor) that can take place. Make some costumes, put on some makeup and unleash the creative monster that hides inside of you. Do something crazy, record it, perform it for others, but mostly, just have fun hiding from the rain.
11. Get your cuddle on.

Whether it's your pet, the one you love or someone you're falling for, cuddling is a great rainy day activity. You're able to get close to the person or animal you're with, and it helps with bonding. Grab a blanket, a pillow and the object of your affection. Get comfortable, and just sink into your happy place.
