1. No, we are not upstate
In fact, we are only about 20 minutes outside of NYC. If you are still confused, please refer to the map below.
2. "Chicken parm on a wedge, please!"
No, it's not a hoagie or hero or sub or grinder or whatever else you wanna call it. A wedge is something you put your cold cuts on, or in this case, your chicken parm.
3. The Metro-North train
You don't really understand how other places survive without a major train system. What did you do before you drove? How the hell do you get to the bars? Not to mention, there's always someone you know on the train.
4. GrandCentral Station
With that being said, you're completely used to the small reunion you face every single time you enter Grand Central on a Friday or Saturday night.
5. "What's the inside of the Empire State Building like?!"
You honestly have no idea, usually when you see it is when you're driving over the GWB. Don't ask us about the Statue of Liberty either, we really don't know.
6."Have you ever been to [insert some famous Brooklyn pizzeria here]?"
No, chances are we haven't been there. But, the best pie most of us have ever had is from Johnny's in Mt. Vernon. What're we gonna go all the way to Brooklyn for?!
and speaking of food ...
7. Nine times out of 10 we'd kill for a Walter's hot dog.
There's just something about waiting on line for a hour that just makes it that much more worthwhile.
8. And there's nothing some candlelight can't fix
No, seriously. Candlelight wings heal all.
9. Our high school weekends consisted of being outside.
Rarely did anyone ever throw a party so our nights consisted of being in the streets of White Plains or maybe even a park in Bronxville or Crestwood.
10. You used to live for the fairs.
Nothing really blossomed your social life more than hanging out at ICS or Greek Fair. Now? We avoid them like the plague.
11. Everybody knows each other.
Odds are if you haven't met someone, you've heard of them ... or you stalked their Instagram.
