There are many stereotypes that are applied to only children. Society sees only children as outcasts, loners, not being able to share and are very spoiled. Yes, at times these things may be true, but they also apply to many people here and there. Only children are much more than these stereotypes. We are creative, imaginative, inspiring and most importantly very caring. We know what it is like to spend a lot of time by ourselves so we truly appreciate the presence of others. Here's to the only children in the world...we gotta stick together!

1. You don't have to worry about your siblings stealing your clothes all the time.

The best part of being an only child is no sharing.

2. You are comfortable being alone especially going out to eat by yourself (me,myself, and I).

Let's be real, being an only child means entertaining yourself most of the time while growing up.

3. We are used to always having the attention on us.

We are used to having things go our way because of this, but it doesn't mean we think the world revolves around us.

4. We are all a little more weird than the rest of the world.

We like it that way though; normal is boring anyways.

5. Mostly being around your parents.

Having no siblings means spending a lot of time around your parents and adult. Sometimes you even get along better with your friends' parents.

6. Never able to blame a brother or sister for something you did.

We all wish we had a brother or sister to blame our accidents on. Instead we blame the dog.

7. You learn to get real creative when it comes to entertaining yourself.

You spend a lot of time being by yourself as a child, but that only increased our imagination and creative ways of keeping ourselves from not being bored.

8. You tend to think of your best friends as your siblings.

We see al our close friends and literal family and we do no take that lightly.

9. Having a roommate in college has been quite a challenge.

You are very used to having your own space so it can be very difficult at times to share a room with another human!

10. Contrary to popular belief, we are not a bunch of loners with no friends.

We love to be in the company of others even if it may not always seem it.

11. We are very supporting and caring.

We will always be there for those people we hold close to our hearts. After all, you are like the sibling we never had.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
