There are always new apps being created and used, and lately the biggest new one is Houseparty. Essentially Houseparty is a video chat app that allows you to enter chats with people you're "friends" with and those that they are "friends" with. It's like FaceTime and Snapchat combined...kind of. Trying to figure out Houseparty is kind of difficult and random conversations are bound to ensue. Below are 12 things that happen when you're trying to figure out Houseparty:

1. You accidentally invite your old boss (or ex, or friend, or aunt...the list goes on)

And you know that Aunt Pauline will bring it up at Christmas: "Now, just what is Houseparty? You're not consuming illegal alcohol are you?"...all in front of your parents.

2. You end up in a chat with an ex-friend or partner on accident

And you attempt to play catch-up while subtly dropping cues that you want to leave the conversation as soon as possible.

3. You accidentally start a chat with an old friend

This one isn't so bad at all--you probably were meaning to catch up with them in the first place.

4. You'll be chatting with a friend about your plans for the night and then someone you accidentally added will join the conversation

"Can I come, too?

"Uh, sure, what's your name?"

5. You accidentally interrupt your best friend's chat with their crush

"Uh, yeah, hi, is it true that you are into cats? That what it seemed like on your Instagram..."

6. You will end up having a heart to heart at 2am because you saw someone was in the house and wanted to see how the app works

"Oh my god I like Adele too!"

7. You attempt to use it to make plans but end up even more confused because people keep coming and going from the chat

"So...are we or are we not getting Chipotle?"

8. You make new friends because they ended up in your chat

"How did you two meet?"

"On accident"

9. You start a chat in the middle of your shift at work on accident because someone requested to be friends

(Based on a true story)

10. You open the app to get rid of the notification (usually after showering or putting on a face mask) and get added to the attractive guy from Bio's chat

And then your entire class somehow ends up in the chat.

11. You end up seeing people are in the house and purposefully avoid even opening your phone
