1. Kids will say whatever it takes to get what they want.

"Our mom and dad ALWAYS let us have candy whenever we want!"

2. Every parent's rules are completely different, so it's hard to remember what is and isn't okay.

This family likes their kids to be in bed by seven but their lights don't have to be out till 8, while this other family has rule that the kids can't have breakfast food for dinner. It's hard to keep each set of rules organized for each family, so babysitting usually just turns into a free for all.

3. Kids have insane mood swings.

One second they're happy and energetic, and the next they're on the floor having a total meltdown.

4. Taking care of children is one of the most tiring jobs ever.

After coming home, the first thing I want to do is take a long, long nap.

5. When the kids are perfect angels, you feel guilty about getting paid.

It feels like you're just hanging out with a couple of really young, energetic friends, so sometimes it can feel weird to be paid afterwards.

6. Tickling is a sure-fire way to get the kids to do whatever you want.

Sometimes, kids need to take a break from playing to do essential things like eat or sleep. But most of the time, they are content playing nonstop, and the only way to get them to put a pause on playtime is to bring out the Tickle Monster.

7. If they won't budge, you can always just pick them up and place them where they need to be.

They're refusing to go to bed? Just pick them up and put them there! Kids don't weigh very much, but their resolve to avoid responsibilities is strong.

8. Letting the kids play games on your phone is a dangerous road.

Okay, so you caved and let them play Temple Run for a few minutes--you'd do practically anything just to have a break from running around. This is a slippery slope, however; soon, they'll ask to play games on your phone every time they see you and there's just no way to say no to those adorable little faces.

9. 98 percent of the time, any little boys over the age of seven will have a crush on you.

10. One of the best feelings is when the children grow to love you.

It's always gratifying to have a group of little kids admire everything you do, but when they tell you they love you and kiss you goodbye, there's no better feeling.

11. The most rewarding aspect is seeing the children you babysit grow, gain new skills, and become their own person.

Anyone who's had the privilege of babysitting for a family over the course of a few years can attest to the fact that watching their kids grow (both physically and cognitively) is a beautiful experience.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
