Competitive dance is an underrated sport. Yes, I consider it a sport. Dancers practice around six times a week for hours on end, which thus, in my opinion, makes it a sport. Practices prepare us for judgment day, (a.k.a. competition). It's not easy, but it's completely worth it. If you are a competitive dancer, or you were, you'll understand this article.
1. When you wake up the day after competition without taking your makeup off the night before.
2. Hearing a song you've danced to in public makes you either want to break out and dance, or run and hide.
3. You can get ready in under 10 minutes thanks to quick changes.
4. You have to wash your hair multiple times after competition just to get the hairspray out.
5. Costume week is like a second Christmas.
6. Once you get your costume, that means dress rehearsal is right around the corner.
7. "So, are your competitions like how it is in 'Dance Moms?'"
8. Saying a little prayer that your headpiece doesn't fall off on stage.
9. Feeling like you're on "Toddlers and Tiaras" when you use facials.
10. When you go out in your stage makeup after a competition thinking you look good:
11. "Sorry, I can't. I have dance."
