It is every college student's favorite time of year... Just kidding, it is the absolute worst time of the year. Finals are the source of nightmares, they are the main contributor to all of our stress, and sleepless evenings in the library. It is during this time that we do not want to accept the idea that anyone else besides our peers understand what we're going through.
But there is one person who knows our struggle - Liz Lemon. The ridiculously relatable protagonist of "30 Rock" is one of the few individuals that actually embodies the seemingly endless process of getting through finals week. Between a lack of sleep, dealing with other crazed individuals, and an endless need for food, Liz Lemon is a leader in how to survive this crazy time.
1. When your professor decides assign a paper last minute and you already have five tests to study for, three other papers to write, and a group project.
Thanks, it isn't like I had anything else to do.
2. Since your schedule is full, it is time to realize that your social life is on pause.
No need to get dressed based on the weather because you probably won't be going out for a while.
3. You may not want to face this reality at first..
There is always time to write that paper for tomorrow. Right?
4. When procrastination is at an all time high, and you just think about what you have to do instead of actually doing the work.
Because worrying about studying and writing a paper is more productive...
5. When you blink and three days have passed and all of your work is due in two days.
It happens to the best of us, and we do have a lot on our minds, so it's semi acceptable.
6. You are still trying to maintain an image of composure though - no need to let your peers see you sweat.
There's no crying during finals week! (said while aggressively holding back three days worth of tears).
7. So instead of crying you turn to a comfort that every college student understands - food.
Pizza is the answer to every problem, even unfinished papers.
8. Your conversation when your parents call to see how you are doing.
Even the joy of pizza cannot distract you from the truth.
9. When things get real, and you are rushing to finish that final sentence of that final paper.
With that last typed punctuation you are that much closer to freedom.
10. After you've finished all of your finals and assignments and start to doubt your performance.
Those professors can grade how they want, but you know that you are worthy of the A.
11. It's been a while since finals ended, and you finally receive your grades.
And all that hard work paid off.
