11 Songs To Take You Back To Your Favorite Fraternity

In honor of the recent rise of the Tik Tok trend "songs that bring you back to your favorite frat basement", I wanted to pay homage to some of the songs I miss hearing at college parties and bars. I go to college in Florida, so there aren't exactly any frat basements per say, but we do have frat backyards!! And frat houses!! So, as Trinidad James says in 'All Gold Everything,' "this one for them colleges." Let's take our minds back to better days at school with this playlist of absolute frat/college bar bangers:

1. 'Losing It' by Fisher

I heard this song for the first time ever at Delta Tau Delta and every time I hear it, I smile and my head goes back to that exact moment.

2. 'Humble Remix' by Kendrick ft. Skrillex

'Humble' by itself was an elite song, so when Skrillex dropped this remix, college DJ's fell in love.

3. 'Wonderwall x Tremor x Purple Lamborghini' by Marshmello

If you are in college and have never heard this song, you deserve a medal... or you have never gone out.

4. 'Swag Surfin'' by Fast Life Yungstaz

Maybe this is just an FSU thing, but they play this at every sporting event and party. Regardless, Go Noles!!!!!

5. 'Chicken Soup' by Skrillex

I also heard this song for the first time ever at Delta Tau Delta. Same rules apply as the statement from 'Losing It'. Can we see why they're my favorite frat?? #RIPDelt

6. 'Dreams and Nightmares' by Meek Mill

"Ain't this what they been waiting for??" Yes Meek Mill, yes it is.

7. 'Gasolina' by Daddy Yankee

This is the only Spanish song that is known by the general public and it has an infectious beat. The crowds go loco for this song and it's the closest thing to cultural music you're ever gonna see in a college setting.

8. 'Mr. Brightside' by The Killers

If this song comes on at a college bar or party and everyone isn't screaming every word and head banging, it's time to leave.

9. 'September' by Earth Wind and Fire

This song is just a very chill change of pace that DJ's love to spin. Everyone goes crazy for this classic in college.

10. 'Doses and Mimosas' by Cherub

This one brings everyone back to darty season.

11. 'Get Low' by Lil John

This is just an iconic party song and I don't think this list could've been completed without it.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
