I've had trouble sleeping all my life. It's hard to fall asleep, to stay asleep. It's just a rough time. But these are some music and noise options I've personally found helpful for sleepless nights and what to listen to depending on why you can't sleep.

First, some picks for my Disney lovers. These are probably best for when you just need something to remind you of childhood and so you aren't distracted by the lyrics as much as you would be for current favorite songs.

1. Reflection by Lea Solonga (Mulan)

A soothing song I know I found self-affirming when I was younger and maybe it will do the same for you if self-doubt is getting you down at night. Maybe it will drive you to wake up with the purpose of making your life how you want so it reflects who you are.

2. Can You Feel The Love Tonight by Elton John (Lion King)

When it seems there's too much hate around you and it's keeping you awake, these lyrics are a gentle reminder that there's more love than hate in the world.

3. You'll Be In My Heart by Phil Collins (Tarzan)

If you need a reminder that you in particular are loved, this one's is from me to you!

4. I See The Light by Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi (Tangled)

A sweet love song to remind you to see the light at the end of the tunnel and send you off to sweet dreams!

Next, if Disney's not your style, maybe some Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, or a combination of the two will send you off to Dreamland!

5. Phoenix by Fall Out Boy

I listened to this to get myself through a panic attack one night and it's an awesome motivational song to fall asleep to! (Thanks to my Olivia for introducing me to this song!)

6. Impossible Year by Panic! At The Disco

For when you need to cry it out but Brendon Urie's vocals will soothe your soul.

7. Nine In The Afternoon by Panic! At The Disco

A happier song of the band that's better for trying to fall asleep when you're almost too happy about things to fall asleep!

8. Sugar, This Is Gospel by Panic! At The Disco and Fall Out Boy (Mashup)

This is a beautiful combination of Fall Out Boy's Sugar, We're Going Down Swinging and Panic! At The Disco's This Is Gospel. It's so well-blended and calming.

Finally, for people who get too distracted by lyrics or the lyrics hit too close to home for why you can't sleep, some instrumentals and background noise.

9. 4 hours Peaceful & Relaxing Instrumental Music-Long Playlist, a playlist by utopiansounds

Some calm music meant for relaxation or meditation that is really helpful for putting your mind to rest.

10. Relax 8 Hours-Relaxing Nature Sounds-Study-Sleep-Meditation-Water Sounds-Bird Song by Johnnie Lawson

If you feel most calm surrounded by nature, this has the sounds of bird and a stream for hours. You can practically smell fresh air listening to it!

11. Relaxing Sounds of Waves - 2 Hours - Tropical Beach Relaxation by 321 Relaxing - Meditation Relax Clips

For those who like to imagine being merpeople, this is a couple hours of the sound of waves gently rolling onto a beach.

And I suppose there are people who enjoy country more than I do. There is one band of the country genre I enjoy: Rascal Flatts. So for you, I have this recommendation.

Bonus: Still Feels Good (The Entire Album) by Rascal Flatts

It's just really nice and it is one of the few albums I don't mind listening to all the way through by any artist. I used to use it to fall asleep for years before I needed to stay up late for assignments and adjusted my sleep schedule to 1:00 AM to 5:30 AM sleeping to accommodate my homework.

I hope these suggestions help!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
