11 Signs You Are A Workaholic
A.V. Club

The average person likes to relax and enjoy their time off of work while there are a handful of people who just cannot get enough of working. These people are known as workaholics. They tend to enjoy spending more time at the workplace while living no such life outside of the workplace. If I am being completely honest, I am a workaholic. Here are 11 signs you may be a workaholic as well.

1. You enjoy working.

As simple as it sounds, you enjoy working and don’t mind spending hours at the workplace.

2. You spend more time at your workplace than you do at your own home.

If the hours you spend at your workplace exceed the hours spend in your home, you’re a workaholic. Your workplace is basically your home now.

3. You’re early to work and late to leave.

If you get to work a half an hour or more before your start time, you’re a workaholic.

4. If someone needs a shift change or needs someone to cover them at work, you gladly volunteer.

What’s a few more hours anyway?

5. Your manager offers you the day off but you decide to work anyway.

It would just feel off if you weren’t following your daily routine.

6. You spend so much time with your coworkers that they become your only friends.

To have someone to complain to about and have them understand is truly a blessing.

7. You know everyone’s coffee orders.

You might as well stop near the nearest Starbucks in order to get through the day.

8. Your outside friends and family always wonder if you’ll be off.

Chances are you have no days off.

9. When you start having dreams about your job.

OK, this is a little far but completely true. If you have dreams about your workplace, you are definitely a workaholic.

10. You find the work itself amusing.

Who actually likes to work? You do!

11. When the time does actually come for your day off, leaving the workplace is as sad as can be.

Let me just drive away into the sunset, looking out the window while I listen to James Blunt and pretend my life is a sad music video.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
