When I went away to college I was excited to finally be on my own. I was so ready to not need to report to my parents or having to drive my sister to her friends' houses. I was finally on my own. And then after spending 15 weeks away from my family, I realized that my month long winter break was exactly what I needed. As finals are nearing, and winter break too, here are some signs to know if you're ready for winter break.
1. Your twin bed is getting too small.
"I need my queen size bed! I can't keep sleeping on this tiny bed made for midgets!"
2. Dining hall food and cooking for yourself isn't cutting it anymore.
"I cannot live off of easy-mac and ramen much longer."
3. You can no longer do laundry the right way.
"It doesn't smell as good as when mom does it..."
4. Your bank account has hit an all-time low.
"I need to go back to work, because I cannot survive on $20 dollars for the next three weeks."
5. You miss your pets.
"I need to go home and get my dog's undivided attention."
6. Papers? Tests? Projects? You can't go on.
"I have spent too many days in the library, and I am sick of seeing my group everyday! No offense guys."
7. You're low-key sick of going out.
"It's Friday already? Someone save me."
8. You don't want to talk to anyone except your sister because everyone else is suddenly annoying.
"Sorry Jane, you aren't as funny as my sister and also you're on my last nerve."
9. You need to start a new Netflix series.
"'Friends' is over and I need to spend weeks watching new shows from my parent's sofa."
10. You're ready to get cash from your relatives just for showing up to things.
"Oh Grandma, are you sure you want to give me $50? If you insist..."
11. You really really just miss your family.
"Yeah dad, I did miss you I guess (just kidding, I miss you a lot, please never let me go)."
