11 Signs That You Go To Eastern Illinois University

Eastern Illinois University is home to many people. It is the heart of Charleston Illinois, and with out EIU Charleston would not have that much to offer. For every student at EIU there is something to offer, but each student at one point realizes, notices or can relate to everything on this list.

1. You know the dining hall menu by heart.

No matter what day of the week it is the dining halls have the same food every week on the same day. Grilled Cheese Wednesday at Taylor, Taco Tuesday at Thomas, and Quesadilla every Monday at Stevo.

2. You realize that Greek life is a majority of the small town school.

Walking on campus you start to see after being there how Eastern has a big majority of Students in Greek Life. (PS. Don't hate on the Rain Jackets).

3. Every time you walk past McAfee Gym you wonder when the construction will ever be done?

For students who have been there more than just a semester can say that we always wonder when the construction will be done so we don't have to see a missing piece of the building anymore.

4. Thanking EIU for textbook rental service.

Going to EIU means only paying a one time a year fee for text books and all you can think is how much money you would be spending on the 10 textbooks you have for the semester, but will never use all of them.

5. Living in the Triad or Stevo Complex means that every Thursday- Saturday you will always hear Marty's Music.

Thirsty Thursday means everyone is about to get ready for the weekend and Marty's is open, and for those of you who decide not to go out you will not miss the music if you live in the Triad or Stevo.

6. When going out on the weekend Jimmy Johns is the move for food and when you have to pee.

Thank you 4th street Jimmy Johns for being open till 4am every Friday and Saturday and never letting us down on good food and your bathrooms.

7. Going into the first week of school you pray that your professor doesn't have a strong accent.

Everybody looks at rate my professor before picking classes, and when you see that they are a good teacher but hard to understand has to be one of the worst feeling's going into the semester.

8. You realize during finals week Marty's is calling your name.

Finals week is rough but you know Marty's will never let you down.

9. As a first year EIU student you know your way around Charleston one of the first week's of school.

Chuck town is so small that you know where everything is. Like please all we need is a Dunkin and a target.

10. You see the same people everyday walking through campus.

Odds are that you will see someone you know everyday because the campus is so small.

11. You never wanna leave EIU.

Eastern Illinois University is home to many people and once you find where you belong you will realize how much of a home it is to you.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
