In the late 90s, MTV graced our televisions with the witty show "Daria." The basic plot of the show revolves around teenage Daria Morgendorffer, a smart and somewhat misanthropic girl. Throughout the show, Daria reacts to life at her high school while criticizing popular culture.

Even though "Daria" stopped airing in 2002, the show has survived through MTV on demand and social networks. Daria's words immortalized herself as a woman of knowledge. Here are 11 reasons why Daria is everything.

11. Daria had a way with her insults:

In a way, they were masked, but they really weren't. Her intellectual, witty remarks were like being educated by criticism.

Daria perfectly embodied an angsty high school girl. Her melancholy humor in a way resonated with people of the age, and still finds ways to relate to modern teens.

Daria is one of those rare characters that gets to live on through the years by sheer popularity. Even though the show stopped airing in 2002, the show lives on through the fans. Daria's way of living and speaking is still relate able and will continue to be over the years to come. Hail Daria.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
