I'm not going to lie to you, I am a huge fan of the lake. What's not to like? The nice sun, warm water, endless activities. There are few places I would rather be than on a lake. Here are a few reasons why lake season is the best season:

1. It is typically beautiful weather when you are at the lake.

It is the perfect time to get a tan, and relax while doing it. There's no hassle of going all the way down south to a beach when you can drive to the nearest lake.

2. The water is so peaceful.

The lake is not only full of fun games and activities for everyone to do, but it also is a great way to get some peace and quiet.

3. It is a great time with friends.

There's no sense in going to the lake by yourself. Bring some friends and have a big get together. The lake is meant for friends and family to have a great time together.

4. There's a high chance you can bring your dog on the boat.

What is better than having your dog on the boat with you? It's great having your dog with you anywhere, but the boat too? Nothing beats pups playing around in the water.

5. You can water ski.

Water skiing isn't the easiest thing in the world, but once you get the hang of it there is not many things better. It's a thrill being out on the water.

6. You can go tubing with friends.

There's nothing quite as great/scary as getting thrown off a tube while holding on for dear life. It might be scary, but you never fail to get back on again.

7. Night boating is a must.

If you think boating during the day is peaceful...you should try boating at night. It's so quiet with no distractions around. Sometimes there's even firework shows over the lake and you can't get a much better seat than out on the lake itself.

8. Oh, the bonfires.

After a long day of boating, take a chance to sit down with your friends and family by a bonfire. Roast a marshmallow..or five. Just take some time at the end of the day to hang out with friends and family and relax.

9. Catch the first fish of the season.

If you're impatient like me fishing is not so easy to do. It is an awesome feeling once you get a bite though. You might even catch yourself some dinner.

10. Taking a dip in the lake water is so refreshing.

Unlike the ocean water the lake water is not freezing cold. It is a nice temperature for you to take a nice dip in to cool off. Everyone should take a nice swim now and again.

11. If you're lucky enough to have access to a jet ski, take advantage.

Not everyone is lucky enough to have a jet ski laying around. If you do have a jet ski take advantage because it is a great thrill to ride around the lake on the jet ski wherever you want to go.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
