It is finally October, which means it is officially fall. Not that half fall in the morning and then sweating in the middle of the day stuff. The full on, cold all day, leaves falling, need a nice cute jacket weather we have been waiting for. Fall is without a doubt the best season, here are the top reasons to be excited:

1. The clothes

Any girl knows that fall clothes are the cutest. A cardigan, boots and jeans are all you need to make a cute outfit. For the guys, this means leggings and all girls know how much guys LOVE leggings. As a friend of mine says, “it’s legging season!"

2. The leaves

If you don’t take pretty photos of the scenery around you are you even doing fall right? The answer is no. Leaves falling and changing colors is the whole point of fall. So take advantage of what Mother Nature is showing you.

3. Pumpkin Spice…EVERYTHING

Yes, pumpkin spice is important and is a major reason to be excited for the fall. PS gets a lot of heat for being “basic” but even the people who hate it love it. Just admit it and order your PSL with confidence.

4. Halloween movies

"Hocus Pocus", "Halloweentown", "Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin", and many more make staying in and sipping apple cider sound perfect on a cool night.

5. Best holidays

Speaking of Halloween that is another reason fall is the best, that and the fact that Thanksgiving is right after. Who doesn’t like getting dressed up with their friends? And who doesn’t like a holiday that’s focus is solely around a meal?

6. Candles

Fall scents are the best. Autumn leaves, apple spice, sweater weather, they just sound so cozy and nice.

7. Football season

Football is back which means that going tailgating and drinking on a Sunday morning is 100% acceptable.

8. Fun excursions.

Those fun insta photos with the squad picking apples and/or pumpkins are always on your feed, but you know you love them and taking them.

9. The weather.

Fall weather is perfect. It isn’t too hot or too cold. The sun is still out at 7 and it doesn’t make you feel like it is midnight when it is only 5pm.

10. Fall TV.

After catching up on Netflix all summer your favorite shows are finally back with a few new shows to get hooked on.

11. One step closer to Christmas.

Finally, soon it will be time to be holly and jolly and blast that Christmas music. And watch "The Grinch".

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
