Everyone thinks of friendships differently. Some people think it's a one-off or that friendships come and go, but best friends, real friends are for life. People don't understand that friends can come and go, but your real friends are like family and they stay for as long as they can. I can never thank my best friends enough for always being there, and for letting me be there for them.

I have "friends" I've known all my life, that are nothing compared to the others and I've known for the same amount of time or for less. So, this is a dedication to two of the best friends a girl could ask for, Sarah and Carol. We have been each others' friends, sisters and rock for the past four years. I can't wait for all the crazy we do and get into. I love you both.

If you want a friendship like ours, some of these rules might help:

Rule 1: Secrets Are For The Grave.

This is the best rule, my favorite rule, because if you can't keep a friend's secret then you're not a true friend.

Rule 2: They Are Always Truthful.

No matter what, your true friends will always be honest and truthful - even if it hurts, because they do not want you to do anything stupid or embarrassing.

Rule 3: They Are Always There For Support.

Friends who want what's best for you will always support you, even if it means your miles away from each other.

Rule 4: Fights Don't Last Forever.

If you guys are really friends, you will fight one day and be back to normal the next. Now, I know there are some fights that last a little longer, but real friends will not let that end a friendship.

Rule 5: Accept That Being Jealous Is Inevitable.

Sometimes your friends will be more successful than you are, maybe they even talk about it, but that does not mean they are trying to rub it in your face.

Rule 6: The Girl Code Is Real.

If you are a girl who does not know what it looks like or is look it up online, because if you break this sacred code you're on your own.

Rule 7: NEVER Date A Friends Ex!

This rule piggybacks off of number six, because this is girl code number 5, the only way this is null and void is he's the guy that's been with every girl or that every girl wants. Although, do not just use that veto on every guy.

Rule 8: Always Remember Each Other's Birthdays.

My best and closest friends are Twins, so it is awesome only having to remember one date. Even though we've known each other for 4 years now, sometimes I still call them by the wrong name. I have resorted to calling them Twin 1 and Twin 2.

Rule 9: Don't Forget Your 'Friendiversary.'

Been friends for five, ten, 20 years or more? Go out and have a girls night to celebrate ya'll.

Rule 10: They Will Help You Improve.

I have a friend I met in the fourth grade, back when I was really shy and all I did was sing. He brought out a side of me that was the opposite, and now that's how I am today. People who know me are probably like what?! So, thank you Derby.

Rule 11: Never Fall Out Over Stupidity.

Friends fight and they may fight a lot, but I mean me and my Best Friends fight a lot because that's just how much we care for each other.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
