Having older sisters is the greatest blessing I could have ever received. No one knows you better, no one makes you laugh harder, and no one else completely understands you like your big sisters do. They make the tough times easier, and help to create some of the greatest memories possible. Family dinners are never awkward and you always have someone to hang out and gossip with.
So to my big sisters, thank you. I'm completely obsessed with the both of you and hope to make you just as proud to be my big sisters just like I am proud to be your little one.
1. She's always there to cover for you.
From sneaking out at 2 a.m. to covering for you when you said you were sleeping at your best friends house when you were really sleeping at your boyfriends, she's got mom and dad under control. She'll try her best to keep you out of trouble just like you would do for her.
2. She's your personal driver.
Because there was a time when you didn't have your license and your only saving grace of leaving the house was the a ride from your big sister. Although she rolled her eyes at mom when she didn't have a choice but to drive you across town to your best friends house, she was secretly happy to do it (maybe).
3. Gossiping is your second language.
She's the only person who you can gossip to about anyone and anything. She cant wait to tell you all of her dirty little secrets, just like you cant wait to tell her yours.
4. You have double the wardrobe.
Yes, she hates it when you steal her clothes without asking, but what does she expect? It's the little sisters job to wear her big sisters clothes. So thank you sis, you made me a way more stylish human being.
5. She's your perfect role model.
Your big sister basically walks on water when it comes to your parents and you can't help but idolize her. Everything she does, you do, and you just hope to one day to grow up to be just as great as her.
6. Car rides are never boring.
Doesn't matter if it's just a ride to the store down the street or a three-hour road trip, the minute you get in the car is when the music video begins. Let's be honest, some of your greatest memories together are made scream singing to music in the car together.
7. She's your "forever friend."
No one will ever love you or understand you like your big sister will. She's the only person who knows every little thing about you and absolutely loves you anyways. Even when she's screaming "I hate you" from across the room.
8. She is your built in Maid-of-Honor.
You don't have to worry about which one of your friends is be suited for the job because your sister has had the job since you were born. She knows everything you like, everything you hate and knows you better than you know yourself. And if your as lucky as me, you get to have two big sister as your maid(s) of honor.
9. Brutal honesty is the only honesty she knows.
If they don't like the color of your shoes, or the new way you style you hair, they'll be the first ones to let you know that you are doing it all wrong. But just remember, it's all because they love you.
10. Wine anyone?
There never has to be a reason to get together over a glass (or bottle) of wine. Whenever you girls get together its always a party, and they're always down to have a good time.
11. You always have someone to lean on.
From the boy who broke your heart, to maybe not always getting along with your parents, your big sister is always there to catch your tears as they fall. She knows that you can't always be as strong as you want to be and she will be there to pick up the pieces when you feel like falling apart. She's basically the only thing holding you together.
