11 Pros To Having A Brother

When I was younger, I always thought about how cool it would be to have a sister to share everything with. I only have a brother as a sibling and it comes with many struggles and annoyances, but then again so does every sibling. If you have a brother, then you know all about the struggle that comes with having one, but to many people, having a brother comes with many pros. It is interesting how that the gender of the sibling you grow up with can change your personality by a lot and how you view the world. I do not have a sister, so I only know what it is like having and growing up with a brother. My brother does get on my nerves some days, but I think that comes with having a sibling in general because I know for a fact that I am most certainly annoying to him as well. I love having a brother and throughout the years I have realized a few pros that come with having a brother.

1. Boys are less high maintenance than girls

Girls are very materialistic and harder to please than boys, so I know that anything I do for my brother, he will appreciate it.

2. Your clothes won't go missing from your closet.

If I had a sister, I would be sharing my clothes constantly and would end up losing some of them, so since I have a brother he usually doesn't borrow my clothes.

3. Your brother won't use your makeup.

My brother doesn't wear makeup, so I never have to share it.

4. You don't have to wait to use the bathroom in the morning to get ready since boys take less time.

My brother never spends a lot of time in the bathroom in the mornings, so I can have all the time I need.

5. Your brother can tell you if your outfit looks good from a guys perspective.

If I ever need advice on what looks good for my outfits I don't hesitate to ask my brother.

6. You're your mom's only daughter so you get spoiled.

My mom only has one daughter so she can splurge on me.

7. You never get your stuff mixed up.

My things and my brother's things never get mixed up because they are not similar.

8. Brothers are always protective over their sisters.

I know that my brother will always have my back.

9. Having a brother makes you competitive.

Having a brother has taught me to fight for what I want or believe in.

10. Brothers teach you to not be so sensitive.

My brother has taught me to not care about what others think.

11. They are always there for you.

I love having a brother and I can't imagine growing up with out him.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
