11 Praise and Worship Songs to Help Get You Through Life
Metro Lyrics

Life is a roller coaster. It is comprised of really high ups and very deep lows. It twists and turns, jolting us at its every whim. It's uncomfortable at times and something that we have no control over; we're just along for the ride. With that being said, I thought I'd share 11 Praise and Worship songs that get me through, in hopes that they will also help you in the midst of this unpredictable thing we call life.

*In no particular order*

1. Worth by Anthony Brown and Group Therapy

"You thought I was to die for, so You sacrificed Your life."

God thought little ole me (and you and everyone else) was important enough to not only die, but die in the most humiliating of ways, for. You won't find a love like that on this earth.

2. Even When It Hurts by Hillsong Young and Free

"Even when it hurts like hell, I'll praise You. Even when it makes no sense to sing, louder then, I'll sing your praise."

Because walking with God is not always rainbows and butterflies. It doesn't always (or ever) make sense but He is worthy to be praised simply because of who He is.

3. I Need You to Survive by Hezekiah Walker

"You are important to me, I need you to survive."

We weren't meant to make this journey alone. In a world full of selfishness and hatred, remember that we are brothers and sisters in Christ, made in God's image and likeness, and we should love each other as we love ourselves.

4. Broken Vessels by Hillsong Young and Free

"Oh, I can see the love in Your eyes, laying Yourself down, raising up the broken to life."

Who else is raising the broken to life? Who else is willing to love you unconditionally through all your faults and flaws?

5. No Weapon by Fred Hammond

"I will not be afraid of the arrows by day, from the hand of my enemy, I can stand my ground with the Lord on my side, for the snares they have set will not succeed"

This is my anthem. Often times I find myself overwhelmed but this song is a constant reminder that I can do any and all things with Christ and the enemy honestly can't touch me.

6. Closer by Bethel Music

"Pull me a little closer, take me a little deeper, I want to know Your heart."

This is forever my prayer. Getting to know and have a deeper relationship is at the top of my priority list, not because I seek to get things from Him, but because I have a true desire to know the One who created and loves me.

7. I Need You Now by Smokie Norful

"I need You now."

What more is there to say? I love this song, primarily, because it is FACTS. We need Him at all times, there are no exceptions and it's great to know that I can run to Him 25/8.

8. Gracious Tempest by Hillsong Young and Free

"Your love is crashing over me...immerse me in the wonder of Your love."

Again, constant prayer of mine.

9. My God is Awesome by Charles Jenkins

"My God is awesome, He heals me when I'm broken..."

God honestly comes through for me. With everything that life throws my way, He has and always will be the One who makes it all better.

10. It Is Well by Bethel Music

"Let go, my soul, and trust in Him. The waves and wind still know His name."

Letting go and trusting in God is a struggle for me. I tend to get myself all riled up over things I have no control over and no business stressing over. Take a moment to relax and realize that God is surprised by nothing and everything in this world submits to Him.

11. Holy by Matt Gillman

"There is no one like You. You are Holy."

If you ever want to get on your face before the Lord, this song will do it for ya. It's my absolute favorite because I can feel the majesty and wonder of this amazing God that I serve.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
