For most of us, the year went by way too quickly and the end is finally within sight. Here are some of the steps of realizing you have almost completed your first year of college.
1. Happiness
You finally get to go home where you don't have to wear sad rubber flip flops while you shower or eat pizza 5 nights in a row. You get to see your friends, your family, and most importantly your pet for the first time in way too long.
2. Dread
Once you get over how excited you are to not be sleeping in your XL twin bed for much longer, you then realize that finals are looming over you just like that cold has over your weak immune system all semester long.3. Determination
You plan your day long excursion to the library to finish everything because it means you are that much closer to being done. Home is right around the corner!4. Procrastination
5. Pure Panic
Amid your frazzled paper writing and studying, you realize that you must move out in a couple weeks. How in the world did this happen? How are you going to fit your hoarding problem into a couple boxes???6. Frantic texts to your parents
How do you pack pillows? What do you mean I can only store 5 boxes? Wait, how expensive is shipping stuff home? Can you bring a plant on the plane ride home? How do you even adult?????7. Hopelessness
When things get hard, everything is completely terrible. You begin to think you should just drop out now even though there are only a couple of weeks left in the semester. Becoming a blob of sadness seems to be your new normal.8. Finally finishing the things you were supposed to finish weeks ago
Thank god, it's about time.9. Attempting to pack
Who knew you packed this much? How did you even get your stuff here? Why, past me, why?!10. So much nostalgia
As the concept of leaving your new home actually becomes a reality, Sarah McLachlan is playing in the background of all your last interactions with friends, even though you are actually only leaving for a couple of months.11. You are done!
Finals are done, your room is completely cleared out, and you are about to head home. You feel all of the things simultaneously, but very excited to relax. Don't worry, you'll be back in a couple of months!Have a wonderfully productive and happy end to the semester!
