Anyone who knows me knows that I love Amy Poehler. She is a source of inspiration for me and there is nothing that I would love more than to sit down with her for coffee and talk about life for a few hours. Unfortunately, I might not get a chance to do that in my lifetime and even if I did, I would probably ugly cry upon meeting her and scare her away. Luckily, Amy has given me and the world countless sources from which to find her words of wisdom, starting with the Upright Citizens Brigade, continuing to "Saturday Night Live" and "Parks and Recreation" and ending with her recently published memoir, "Yes Please." Here are some important bits of Amy Poehler advice to live by:

1. “The only way we will survive is by being kind. The only way we can get by in this world is through the help we receive from others. No one can do it alone, no matter how great the machines are.”

2. "You know my code: hoes before bros. Uteruses before duderuses. Ovaries before brovaries."

3. “Going from crying to laughing that fast and hard happens maybe five times in your life and that extreme right turn is the reason why we are alive, and I believe it extends our life by many years.”

4. “Dancing is the great equalizer. It gets people out of their heads and into their bodies. I think if you can dance and be free and not embarrassed, you can rule the world.”

5. "Girls, if boys say something that's not funny, you don't have to laugh!"

6. “Looking silly can be very powerful. People who are committing and taking risks become the king and queen of my prom. People are their most beautiful when they are laughing, crying, dancing, playing, telling the truth, and being chased in a fun way.”

7. "One person's annoying is another's inspiring and heroic."

8. “I am introducing a new idea. Try to care less. Practice ambivalence. Learn to let go of wanting it.”

9. “Ambivalence is key [to success]. You have to care about your work but not about the result. You have to care about how good you are and how good you feel, but not about how good people think you are or how good people think you look.”

10. “Good for her! Not for me. That is the motto women should constantly repeat over and over again. Good for her! Not for me.”

11. "You can't look stupid if you're having fun."

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
