A week ago I got back from my first camping festival: Bonnaroo. It was easily the best four days of my entire life, but I was feeling the pain of camping for four nights in extreme middle Tennessee weather. While you're listening to awesome music, meeting cool people from all around the country, and eating some delicious foods, you're missing out on a lot and realize just how much you take for granted.

1. Your shower

Yes, there are showers at most camping music festivals but it's nothing like the one you have at home. It's a communal shower that you have to wait in line for 30 minutes for. Sometimes the water is extremely hot and sometimes it's freezing, who knows?

2. Your working toilet

I never want to step foot in a port-a-potty ever again.

3. Just plumbing in general

I wanted so desperately to wash my hands in a real sink and use a fluffy clean towel to dry them.

4. Winter

When you're drowning in your own sweat you really wish it was the middle of January in Alaska.

5. Your bed

An air mattress in a boiling hot tent can only provide so much comfort.

6. Anything not infested with glitter

Every day was a new day for glitter. It's so cute and so fun but it's not so cute when every single thing you brought with you is covered in glitter for two weeks. Including your hair.

7. Your favorite foods

Yes, there is awesome food vendors at festivals but sometimes you just miss the foods you always eat at home. I was constantly craving protein bars.

8. The feeling of being healthy

The first thing I did when I got home was go to the gym and eat only healthy foods. You feel so dirty and fat that you have to do a major cleanse when you're back.

9. Pedicures

My feet were an absolute wreck when I got back. A pedicure was absolutely mandatory.

10. Privacy

You aren't technically doing anything by yourself the whole time. You're constantly surrounded by other people. Even in the bathrooms and showers you can see your neighbor's feet and hear everyone around you.

11. Silence

You will never have one minute of silence the entirety of your trip. People play music at their campsite until 5 a.m. and you wake up to music also.

While all of these things might sound terrible, it's all worth it. Camping festivals will be one of the best memories you could ever make. All you have to do is get some friends, stay hydrated, and let the festival become your favorite place on Earth. Thanks for the mems Bonnaroo.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
