1. Decorate for Fall
There is a lot that needs to be done before Christmas, and this is definitely the first. In order to truly get into the season of fall and winter, you have to dress your house up like it. You can do this with any decoration. Light, leaves, smells, etc. if it is something that reminds you of fall, get it out!
2. Visit at least one pumpkin patch
Whether you go with friends or by yourself, a pumpkin patch is always fun. I would say it is probably the number 1 thing to do on my fall list this year and I got to check it off last weekend. A pumpkin patch reminds of everything fall including pick you own pumpkins!
3. Visit a Haunted House
Although I am not a huge fan of haunted houses, it is definitely something you should do before Christmas. They are usually great thrills with twists and turns and it is just overall fun. Even though you may not like them. Still try and make the effort to visit one and check it off your list.
4. Start Christmas shopping
Yes I know it isn't even Halloween yet, but hear me out. Fall is the best time to start! You don't have the rush of last minute shopping, usually everything is on sale, and it cuts down the time you have to spend in the cold in November and December,
5. Start Thanksgiving prep
Nothing is worse than getting to Thanksgiving day and realizing you don't know what you are having. In order to avoid this, start planning early. Get the menu and everything together that way Thanksgiving morning is stress free.
6. Actually have Thanksgiving
Now that you have done all the prep and cooking, you can finally celebrate Thanksgiving and be thankful. Thanksgiving is a great holiday and you should not miss out on it just because you weren't prepared.
7. Go Black Friday Shopping
This is honestly one of my favorite days of the year. Yes, there are great deals....but there is also some amazing people watching you can do. Sometimes just going to the mall or where ever you prefer you can see some amazing fights over dumb products and you can watch without being judged.
8. Decorate for Christmas
One of the best parts of the holidays, is decorating. Getting to put up the Christmas tree with ornaments and lights is just so fun. If you do it with your families that makes it hundred times more special and you definitely don't want to skip out on this part.
9. Bake Holiday treats
This is honestly my favorite part of Christmas. I love getting to bake and filling the house with the smells of the treats is amazing. Baking with my grandma and family is literally the best, and if you have not tried this yet I definitely recommend it!
10. Start singing Christmas songs
Wow do I love me some Christmas songs. It is by far my most favorite kind of music I just love it. Its great to listen to in the car, while you're baking your holiday treats, or even while putting up your decorations!
11. Finally...Celebrate Christmas!
It is the big day you have been waiting for and been preparing for and it is finally here. You get to celebrate with friends and family a great holiday that means so much. So, take a break from all that prep and celebrate a great time.
This is one of the most stressful times of the year. With all the prep and non stop going, but it is all worth it in the end. These 11 must do's are here to help your Christmas season go a lot smoother and that way you don't forget anything!
