As a new adult, life can get stressful. And I have no doubts that this never actually changes as life continues on. It becomes a roller coaster ride and when things start to head downhill, there is a huge need for a great escape. Be it whatever you like - vacation, spa, you name it. As a Disney lover, one of my favorite escapes happens to be a movie marathon. Anything and everything Disney - animated or not. These movies bring me back to my childhood - no deadlines, no bills, and zero responsibilities. I can’t be the only disnerd out there to feel this way either.

Cuddling up with a blanket, some snacks, and a stack of Disney movies is bliss. Here are some of my favorite marathon movies.

1. “Aladdin”

This inspirational tale is packed full of comedy and feel good emotions making it the perfect pick-me-up. One of the best things about this story is Genie, which needs no other explanation because it’s Genie.

2. “Bambi II”

Usually you hear that sequels can do zero justice for a movie. But if you have ever watched Bambi’s sequel- you know that is not always true. "Bambi II" brings so much happy feelings to the surface as it follows the young Bambi while he bonds with his dad.

3. “Beauty and the Beast”

This timeless classic will steal your heart with its endearing tale. With love, laughs, and magic, it makes for a great marathon movie. Who can ever say no to Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, and Chip?

4. “Brave”

Disney Pixar’s “Brave” is another great movie for those pick-me-up marathons. It is packed full of adventure, love, and learning. With such a strong nostalgia for family, it makes for a great take-me-back-to-my-childhood film.

5. “Finding Nemo”

There are so many feel good emotions that come along with this movie. Dory really makes this worth a watch for marathon night (or day). She knows how to keep your spirits high, even in the most frustrating of situations. After all, we all must “just keep swimming,” right?

6. “Lilo & Stitch”

Who can ever resist the adorable Stitch and his escapades with his partner in crime, Lilo? They are the epitome of childhood nostalgia.

7. “Mulan”

A tale of adventure, determination, and love- who can resist? Especially when we have Mushu and Cricket to keep our spirits high throughout the entire film, this is a must for the list!

8. “Pocahontas”

This one is hard not to have on the list when Meeko, Flit, and Percy steal the show. They bring so many smiles and laughs to anyone who watches this one.

9. “The Lion King”

Timon and Pumbaa really bring out the best in all of us when we put this movie in. The laughs they bring are priceless, making this one of the best pick-me-up movies out there.

10. “Tarzan”

There is so much love, curiosity, and adventure that spill from this movie. It is all so intoxicating and makes this a great movie for a Disney escape.

11. “Up”

The wonderful journey that is “Up” makes this a great addition to the list. Dug, Kevin, and all of the dogs in the movie allow for some great laughs and fuzzy feelings. Who can resist all of their cuteness? And the bonding between our human pals, Carl and Russell, just tops the cake.

And of course - if there are any

musical numbers - you know you can’t help but sing along because you know all of the words. That’s just what we do as Disney fans, right?!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
