If you are a young woman like me, chances are you have heard the compliment "you're so cute" from either your significant other, a friend, or a family member. It's a nice and kind gesture, but here are eleven compliments that I personally think have a lot more meaning behind them.
1. "You're gorgeous."
I have personally always loved this compliment. It makes me feel like the person completely sees my beauty, but not just on the outside.
2. "I love your passion."
When someone sees my passion for something, it truly makes me happy because it lets me know that my love for the activity is being noticed.
3. "You're the strongest person I know."
I have heard this compliment multiple times usually at times when I am feeling depressed and incapable. When people tell me this, it reminds me of all of the things I have survived, and that I can survive whatever is thrown my way next.
4. "You have a heart of gold."
I always try to be kind to people and go out of my way to help others, so when people say this compliment to me, it proves that my kindness is not going unrecognized.
5. "I'm so proud of you."
I love hearing these words from whoever is saying it. It lets me know that the person sees my hard work and all of my effort that I am putting in.
6. "I wouldn't change a thing about you."
This compliment lets me know that the person who said it thinks I am perfect just the way I am. Who doesn't like hearing that? Especially when I feel the most far thing from perfect.
7. "I love how smart you are."
My intelligence is one of the things I am most proud of because I put a lot of effort into my studies and learning new things, so when someone recognizes it, it makes me feel so good.
8. "I can talk about anything with you."
This compliment makes me feel so good because it lets me know that the person feels comfortable with me, and I want the people in my life to be able to trust me in this way.
9. "I love your sense of humor."
My sense of humor includes being really goofy and telling bad jokes, so when someone compliments it, it makes me feel good and it is understood, and that I am not alone with my goofiness and lame jokes.
10. "You're so unique."
I have always been a little bit different than everyone else, but it is also something I am proud of. So when someone notices that I'm not like people they have met before, it gives me such a great feeling.
11. "You have made such a big impact on my life."
I personally tend to think of myself as being ordinary and not like someone who can make that much of an impact on someone's life, so when someone tells me this it makes me feel important.
So, next time you are looking to compliment someone, think of saying one of these before saying the typical "you're so cute." I promise the person hearing it will love it!
Love,
