If you're only into whatever's at the top of the charts, I've got news for you: music doesn't have to be number one to be good. In fact, some of the best music you'll find is right in front of you, literally.
Smaller, local bands might not be as famous as the people you normally listen to, but your favorite artists all started out in their positions. These 11 bands from New York are well on their way to big things, and I cannot emphasize enough how much I encourage you to listen to their music, even if it's for a few seconds.
You might just end up finding your new favorite band.
